Aging Rockers

When our old bodies are racked with pain, when our hearts are full of grief, the Word of God brings sweet relief. When doubts and fears disturb our rest, we pray to God in our distress. When recall fails and thoughts confuse, The Holy Spirit our minds renew. Proverbs 16:31 - “The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.” Leviticus 19:32 - “Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.” When friends and earthly comforts flee, I know that Christ will comfort me. When I confront that last dark night, I know that Christ will be my Light. My suffering will soon be past, my soul shall rest in God at last. (excerpts from David Lougher's Poem)
