Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday … what’s next?
As with any tradition or holiday, how you celebrate is a matter of choice. Everyone wants a good deal, and it’s always a good idea to ‘give’, but don’t let the world influence your choices, or how you celebrate traditions or holidays. Thanksgiving and Christmas are about God and His blessings!
If you are a ‘Black Friday’ shopper, being out in the masses can certainly provide opportunity to share the Love of Jesus. Take some Bible tracts with you and pass them out while you’re waiting in line. If you don’t have tracts, print out your own tracts here. Consider shopping the stores which promote ‘Christmas’ rather than generic ‘happy holiday’ themes. And maybe forgo the Starbucks coffee (they are a non-Christian company)!
If you plan on shopping at home on ‘Cyber Monday’, pray about who you can purchase and ship a gift to. Maybe a widow, orphan or anyone you know who is in need, or who is alone during the holidays.
James 1:27 - “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”
If you participate in ‘Giving Tuesday’, pray about which organization(s) you would like to give to. Consider giving to missionaries, ministries or those who use donations to spread the Word of God.
It’s a busy world. Take a breather! Glorify God with the day He gave you!
