Which Bible is God's Holy Word?
There are hundreds of books that claim to be the Bible, God's Holy Word.
But there is ONLY ONE true Bible that has been preserved.
There are versions ... and there is The Bible.
Here's what God has to say about it.
God's Word is Pure and Holy.
Psalms 12:6 - “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”
God wrote the Bible.
Men wrote the words as they were inspired by God.
They were not perfect men, but they were guided perfectly. 40 authors, one mind.
2Timothy 3:16-17 -
"All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."
2Peter 1:20-21 -
"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake [as they were] moved by the Holy Ghost."
God promised to preserve His Word forever.
God keeps His promises!
Psalms 12:7 -
“Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.”
Psalms 119:89 -
“LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.”
Isaiah 40:8 -
“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”
Matthew 24:35 -
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
(NOTE: THESE EXACT WORDS ARE REPEATED IN Mark 13:31 and Luke 21:33. When God repeats Himself, it is IMPORTANT--PAY ATTENTION!)
God warned that His Word would be changed and people would turn from His truths.
2Timothy 4:3-4 -
"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."
2Peter 3:15-16 -
"As also in all [his] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as [they do] also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know [these things] before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness."
Galatians 1:6-7 -
"I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ."
God warns us not to add to or take away from His Word.
There are consequences!
Proverbs 30:6 -
“Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.”
Deuteronomy 4:2 -
“Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.”
Revelation 22:18-19 -
"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book."
Galatians 1:8-9 -
"But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any [man] preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed."
So ...
Which one is God's true Word?
This question is more important than you may think. It's a controversy rooted in man's pride that most people don't even understand (including many pastors!). You won't grasp the gravity of it until you take the time to study the history of the Bible and search the Bible itself for answers. Without going into significant detail, this article will outline basic information you need in order to get an idea of which Bible is God's true Word and then point you to trusted resources for further study.
Don't let satan make a monkey out of you
-
If you have more faith in the church you attend than God's Word?
You'll fall victim to this. -
If you have more faith in your pastor than God's Word?
You'll fall victim to this. -
If you have something in your life (other than God)
that can give you eternal life in Heaven?
That's unfortunate and in real life is not possible.
Ponder this: Do you like it when someone changes your words and claims you said something that you didn't? For instance, if I were to say, "I'm going to the grocery store to pick up some milk. I'll be back in about an hour" and my statement was changed to say, "I'm headed out to get some dairy products and will be home soon", it would leave out and even change the details of what was said.
That is what's happening to God's very words.
New versions of so-called "bibles" change the very words of God Almighty! God repeatedly warns of this. But the changes being made are much more significant than going to the store for milk! New versions are taking away and/or adding words which remove the very deity of Christ and change the gospel message! God wrote His words and then preserved them. If you have the faith to believe He can save your soul from an eternity in hell, surely you have faith to believe God has kept His promise and preserved His Word!
From the very beginning in the Garden of Eden, Satan deceived Adam and Eve by changing God's words. Genesis 3:1-5 - "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which [is] in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."
In order to obtain a copyright, new "bible" versions must be changed at least 10 percent from the original. They make money on these "bibles". The King James Bible (KJB) has no copyright--it was given to the people by the King and can be copied freely to this day. Many people are deceived into thinking the New King James Version (NKJV) is the same as the King James Bible without the "thees" and "thous" because it's archaic or "too hard to read" -- but did you know the NKJV has over 60,000 changes? Other new age versions replace the word "God" or "only begotten Son" with "The One". They also replace "Jesus", "Christ" or "God" with the generic "him".
Things that are different are NOT the same!
Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
Many of the new bible versions say, "I can do everything through him who gives me strength." Who is "him"? Could it be Allah? Buddha? anybody's guess, and that's satan's intent.
The KJB is actually easier to read than new versions. Computer analysis formulas grade it at a 5th grade level, compared to the NKJV and NASB at 6th grade level and the NIV at the 8th grade level! In addition, the KJB has a built-in dictionary, defining all those "hard" words within its very verses.
John 10:4-5 says, "And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers."
In other words, Jesus knows his sheep and his sheep know Jesus.
The King James Bible comes from the Textus Receptus manuscript and is a contextually precise word-for-word translation of the pure text. Modern versions come from different manuscripts and most are translated thought-for-thought, making them inaccurate and therefore corrupt. Remember, there is a double curse for altering the gospel and new versions are doing just that. Oh, be careful little eyes what you see!
The changes these new versions make are numerous. The best resource for a wealth of exhaustive research information on this subject can be found at: Authorized Version Publications and also Bible Versions, Your Questions Answered.
There were at least sixty men directly involved in the translation of the KJB, which took 7 years. They were organized into six companies, two each working separately at Westminster, Oxford, and Cambridge on sections of the Bible assigned to them. Most men were Translators, while a few were project overseers, revisers and editors. All of the men were university graduates (Oxford and Cambridge) and had a familiarity with the ancient languages of Latin, Greek, Hebrew, and more. The KJB had a marked influence on English literary style and was generally accepted as the standard English Bible from the mid-17th to the early 20th century, and countless people were saved by reading and studying it. The Authorized Version (King James Bible) was published in 1611. There is much misinformation online about the Bible-- again, the work of Satan. YOU CANNOT CHANGE GOD'S WORDS! The New International Version (NIV) is just that -- Satan's international Bible ... for all nations ... One World Religion. Do your research! There are tons of changes!
The King James Bible is a translation, not a "version". It is the Holy Bible (erroneously referred to as KJV). A translation means word-for-word. All other modern "bibles" are "versions" (thought-for-thought) and not God's true Word. There is one faith, one Lord ... and one Bible for English readers -- the KJB. Ephesians 4:5 - “One Lord, one faith, one baptism,”
John 1:1 - “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Pray and ask God to show you His true Word. Jesus knows His sheep and His sheep know Him!
Why does it matter which "bible" I read?
The Holy Bible contains something called "The mysteries of God" and we are called to be faithful stewards of those mysteries. There are 14 mysteries, 7 of which are to the nation of Israel and 7 are written to the church (body of Christ). We, as born-again believers in Jesus Christ, are called to take care of, to teach, the mysteries of God for our generation to make sure that the next generation of believers has an understanding of these mysteries.
1Corinthians 4:1-2 - "Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful."
What does this have to do with the "bible" I read? One of the mysteries of God is "The Mystery of Godliness." 1Timothy 3:16 - “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” The mystery of godliness is that God became flesh. John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:14 says, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
It's a mystery how God became flesh in the form of Jesus Christ. Not everybody understands that mystery, mostly because today's new "bibles" are changed to remove the divine nature of Jesus Christ. There's a spirit in this age that declares Jesus Christ was not God. That is called the "spirit of the antichrist." 1John 4:1-3 says, "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world."
In the world is a spirit of the antichrist; a spirit that says Jesus Christ was just a prophet; just a good man; just a great teacher, a healer. No! Jesus Christ is, was and always will be God! Today's "bibles" remove the divine nature of Christ. Satan is changing God's word again -- through modern "bible" versions. What will you tell God when you give an account at Judgment Day?
