Christmas Challenge 2024
Today’s message begins with a challenge. 2024 is soon coming to a close, and the world is buzzing with “Christmas.” (Be careful--transpose some letters in "Santa" and you get another guy in red, "Satan.") There's nothing necessarily wrong with Santa playing a small role in your celebration, but sometimes “Christmas” gets so busy that we take our eyes off of the true meaning … the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
The challenge: keep reading the Bible, keep praying, keep studying and sharing these blog messages and any spiritually-encouraging message throughout the next few weeks, no matter how busy your calendar gets. Do whatever it takes to keep your eyes and heart focused on Jesus.
Remember that the month of December is a sad time of year for many people who: have lost loved ones; are experiencing financial difficulties; going through a difficult trial; are ill; or live alone. The best gift you can give anyone is your time. For those who don’t know Jesus, share your testimony of spiritual birth. Pray for them, call, write, email, text or share any type of encouragement … whatever God lays on your heart to do.
2Corinthians 9:8 - “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:”
This Christmas season (and always), determine to share His most precious gift: the ability for “whosoever” to spend eternity with Him in heaven. God has already provided everything we need.
Philippians 4:19 - “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Don't lose hope! God provides in ways we can't explain or deny. The little that we have He multiplies. Just when you feel He won't show up on time, God provides!
Seek Him first, then claim His promises! Our God provides!
Matthew 6:31-33 – “Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
