I'm hanging on by a thread and clinging to my prayers. Every breath is like a battle and I feel like I’m not prepared. Death's knockin' on the front door, pain's creepin' through the back; fear's crawlin' through the windows, waiting for the attack. They say, "Don't get bitter, get better!" so I'm working on switching them letters, but God, I need hope and some help keeping it together.
Luke 9:23-25 – “... If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. 24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. 25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?” Psalms 16:9 - “Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.” Psalms 94:19 - “In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.” 2Corinthians 1:7-10 – “And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. 8 For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble ... that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: 9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: 10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;”
Matthew 7:7-8 – “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
I'm smilin' in everyone's face, but I'm cryin' when they leave the room. They don't know the battle I’m facing or understand what I'm going through. The world is playing with my soul and I know I can't do this on my own. God knows, and I'm trusting in Him because I don't know where else to go! I’ll find You, Lord -- You will fight my battle for me and I won’t be alone. Once I find my Saviour, no matter when my time comes, I’ve found my way home.
