Republic (rĭ-pŭb′lĭk): a government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governing according to law. The United States of America is a republic. The key difference between a republic and a democracy is not how power is projected, but the limits to power.
The US Constitution limits the power of the government. Some rights such as the Bill of Rights, the right to vote, and the powers to amend the Constitution are limited and cannot be changed by the sitting government without consulting the public directly.
We-the-People elect our earthly representatives to govern according to the law. True Christ-followers will vote their biblical values by electing representatives who will govern righteously. Spiritual warfare is more evident than ever in the political arena, but our hope is not in Washington, D.C. or in mankind … our hope is in Jesus Christ! The Lord will execute judgment on the wicked, but thank the Lord there is a peaceable habitation above for the righteous and His truth is marching on!
Jeremiah 25:30-31 – “Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread [the grapes], against all the inhabitants of the earth. 31 A noise shall come [even] to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them [that are] wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.”
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord; He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword; His truth is marching on. Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Revelation 14:7 - “Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.”
The hour of judgment is near. Oh, be swift, all souls, to answer Him …
