Thank You, Veterans

In the USA, Veterans Day annually falls on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the armistice in 1918, which ended the World War I hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany. We want to recognize and thank all Veterans for their services to our great country.

Just as our military puts on armour to protect the United States of America, Ephesians Chapter 6 reminds Christians to put on the full armour of God to stand against spiritual warfare.
Ephesians 6:11-12 - "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
God reminds Christian soldiers that He is with us wherever we go --
Joshua 1:9 - “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Following is a Prayer for our Veterans. A printable PDF version of the prayer appears below.
Heavenly Father,
In Your wisdom, You have called many to serve with courage and strength. Today, we lift up our veterans, those guardians of peace, who have sacrificed their comfort for our safety. Lord, bless them with an abundance of honor and respect that mirrors the magnitude of their sacrifice.
As the shepherd guides his flock to green pastures, lead our veterans to places where their hearts find peace and recognition. Let their service be acknowledged not just with words but through our actions and deeds. In a world quick to move forward, help us to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the freedoms preserved by their selflessness.
May Your love wrap around them, healing any wounds unseen, and reinforcing their worth far beyond their days in uniform. Grant them strength, renew their spirits, and fill them with Your everlasting peace, knowing that their service is honored and remembered.
Amen.
