THOU, THEE, THINE, YE

WORDS. MEAN. SOMETHING. The King James Bible, God’s Holy Word, is beautifully written. No wonder, it was penned by men inspired by the Holy Ghost! Don't be fooled by modern “bible” versions which take away the deity of Jesus, and even omit the words “GOD”, “Jesus” and “Christ” hundreds of times! Some say the King James Bible is "hard to understand", yet the KJB's reading level is 5th-grade, while modern versions are 6th-9th grade reading level.

satan deceived Eve by changing God’s words from the beginning, just as he is changing God’s Word (The Bible) today. God promised to preserve His Word and He has. It has been purified seven times and is *settled in heaven FOREVER. Things that are different are not the same! Study … and you will see. *What does 'LAMED' mean in Ps. 119:89?

Study tip: Words beginning with ‘T’ (Thou, Thee, Thy, and Thine) are singular and indicate only one person. Words beginning with ‘Y’ (Ye, You, and Yours) are plural and indicate more than one person. According to The Language of the King James Bible, the NKJV, NIV, CEV, NRSV, NASB and most modern versions do not make these distinctions. The word ‘you’ is used in all cases except KJB. Example:

Jesus said to Nicodemus in John 3:7:

King James Bible - “Marvel not that I say unto thee, Ye must be born again.” NIV, et al - “You should not be surprised at my saying, You must be born again.”

In the NIV, the word ‘you’ is used for both the singular (thee) and the plural (Ye). The KJB clearly teaches that Jesus was not merely addressing Nicodemus alone. All men must be born again.

The King James Bible:

  • has a hidden built-in dictionary (where Webster’s and Oxford English dictionaries are derived)

  • uses phonaesthesia to create balance, contrast, emphasis, unity and associations in a verse, which compliments the meaning and beauty of the passage and enhances memorability.

  • has an internationally recognizable vocabulary and spelling

The Bible is God’s Book; it is holy, set apart. Changing it to fit modern culture doesn’t keep it "set apart" and we are warned not to add to or take away from His Word. Why exchange God’s brilliant “diamond” for a counterfeit?
