Walking Free

Addiction is a ‘need’ to do, take or use something, to the point where it can be harmful. Addiction is most commonly associated with drugs, gambling, alcohol and nicotine, but did you know it's possible to become addicted to work? to computers? to TV? to shopping?

Whatever a person is addicted to, it becomes difficult to control, and they may develop a dependency on it to get through daily life. The strain of managing an addiction can seriously damage a person's work performance and relationships; and as it progresses, it can lead to illegal activity, being arrested, and even incarceration.

John 8:34, 3634 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

Today’s video tells the story of addicts who have found freedom in Jesus. Everyone in the video has gone through (or is a family member of someone who has gone through) ‘Ground 40’, a faith-based program designed to meet the needs of men trying to break free from addiction. Practical and spiritual guidance through God’s Word and discipleship are provided to those transitioning back into the community.

The ministry is based on Psalms Chapter 40 - “…I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. 3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.” Song Lyrics
