Just three chords and a melody won't leave you a living legacy ... without Jesus. Just five bucks in an offering won't buy you some prosperity, won't get you out of your depravity … without Jesus. You could memorize, speak in tongues; you could sell it all, be burned at the stake, but what in the world do you have to gain without Jesus?
1Corinthians 13:1-3 – “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.” Read 1Corinthians Chapter 13
“Charity” means “Love” … God is Love! If all I ever get out of laying my life down is thorns in the shape of a crown on the brow of a man from Nazareth … if all I get is what Jesus did … then I get it all, I’ll have it all!
