Anna and Simeon

In the Book of Luke, Chapter 2, is the story of Anna and Simeon, who spent their lives awaiting the coming Messiah. God did not disappoint them, but allowed them to see Jesus. God always keeps His promises; He is faithful! He may not always give us what we want, but He always provides what we need. Let’s be like Anna and Simeon, and spend our lives looking to and living for Jesus.

Luke 2:25-32, 36-38 – “And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name [was] Simeon … [was] just and devout … and the Holy Ghost was upon him. 26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ. 27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, … 28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, 29 Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: 30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, 31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; 32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. 36 And there was one Anna, a prophetess, … she was of a great age, …37 And she [was] a widow … which departed not from the temple, but served [God] with fastings and prayers night and day. 38 And she … gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.”

Simeon and Anna finally see the fulfillment of God’s prophecy and oh, what a Light they saw! His Light shines brighter than the stars! His Love reaches out to you wherever you are! God has a plan for every day. Follow His plan and not your own ... His Light shines brighter!
