Every day I pray to Almighty God above to watch over me and my family, but every day I seem to pray the same old thing in the same old way. I start to think that maybe I should change; maybe I should find something better to say. I've learned that God always hears my prayers. So I get down on my knees because I'm stronger than these voices inside of my head; they try to deceive me and make me believe that I’d be better off putting my requests to rest. But God’s already one step ahead … He knew just what I would say before it was said!
1Thessalonians 5:17 - “Pray without ceasing.” Matthew 6:7 - “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.” Mark 13:33 - “Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.” James 5:16b - “… The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Matthew 6:8 - “Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.”
Prayer is one of the greatest privileges of God’s children and is made possible because Jesus Christ made a way to our Father. Communicating with God through prayer brings His people into fellowship with Him. The Bible tells us to always keep praying … not for our desires but to thank Him for His constant care and provision. We should also pray for others and always pray according to God’s will because He knows our needs better than we do.
