He Made a Mosaic
Looking at my past right now, honestly I can't see how any beauty could be underneath these ashes. Every place I've compromised, all the patterns of my life; there's a million things I wish had never happened. Lord Jesus, it's amazing how You take every mess-up and mistake, every broken frame and shattered place in me and instead of throwing me away, You clean up every jagged shape and put a work of art together perfectly. Then You shine Your Light through my imperfect, fractured lines … nothing was wasted … and You made a mosaic.
Psalms 147:3 - “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” Isaiah 53:5 - “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Psalms 18:20 - “The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.” Psalms 34:18-19 – “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.”
The beauty of the Bible is seen in God's joy in salvaging our broken lives. If we take the broken pieces to God and ask Him to fix it, He will put us back together again. There’s no life so broken that it’s beyond His ability to repair. We just have to be willing to hand Him the pieces. Each of us are a brand new creation, a beautiful design … a work of art so peculiar, so divine … a fascinating sight, every crack displays a different shade of mercy. It is overwhelming just how much God Loves us! Only He can take our ashes and make them into a unique and lovely mosaic.
