His Eye is on the Sparrow

Why would I feel discouraged or why should the shadows come? If the Lord Jesus is my portion and constant Friend, why should my heart be lonely and long for Heaven and home? Jesus has His eye on the sparrow, and I know He watches me, too. Knowing that makes me sing, because like the sparrow, I, too, am happy and free!

Matthew 6:25-26 – “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?” James 4:10 - “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” Psalms 35:9 - “And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.”

Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise; when songs give way to sighing and when hope within me dies, I draw closer to Him and He sets me free from all life’s cares and worries. For if our Heavenly Father takes care of the little sparrows, He will surely take care of you and me!
