Walking through these high school halls afraid, locks on the doors but I don't feel safe. Too many guns in the hands of hate … it's the new normal. (It’s not the guns that kill … it’s people that kill.) We're supposed to be young and innocent but it feels like those days just came and went. The world's looking darker than it's ever been. We're too young for all this hurting … Lord, give us peace, give us strength, give us Love.
Isaiah 51:7 - “Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.” Psalms 27:1 - “… The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalms 73:26 - “My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.” Psalms 146:5 - “Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:” John 16:33 - “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
Lord Jesus, You're not a stranger to pain. You see our every tear … one day they'll be wiped away! With You, we are not alone in the in-between. You are our Hope when Hope is unseen; give us a glimpse of the greater dream. In this world there will be trouble but take heart … Jesus has overcome the world! Oh Saviour, give us a “new normal” each day with You.
