I've been empty, and I know Who fills the cup. My ego fights back, telling me that I'm ready to grab the wheel and take control. Jesus, put the “X” on my faded map and draw me a line back to where You're at. Give me patience when I try to move too fast. I hear Your Spirit calling like a compass in my soul, saying, “Child come on back now, you've been gone too long. Let me lead you back where you belong … right next to me.” Job 22:23 - “If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.” Lamentations 3:40 - “Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.” Psalms 16:8 - “I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.”
I've been captive by the plans I try to make; I've been selfish and there’s habits that I know I gotta break. Ain't it good to know that help is on the way! Jesus, lead me back to where I belong. I tried to do it on my own but I need You to help me get back home ... I need You next to me.
