Ever had an old song pop in your head that you haven't heard for awhile and then you can't get it out of your mind? For whatever reason, Stevie Wonder's 1970s Signed, Sealed, Delivered song was recently stuck on 'replay' in the ol' brain.
There are many secular songs that, with different lyrics, would make great Christian songs. For instance, Signed, Sealed, Delivered can also describe accepting Christ as Saviour:
SIGNED -- Jesus signed our name in the Lamb's Book of Life at salvation. If you are not saved, your name is not written there and hell is your eternal destination. If you are saved, alleluia! Who have you shared the gospel message with this week?Revelation 20:15 - “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
SEALED -- Our salvation is sealed by the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption. Once saved, you cannot 'lose' your salvation--it is sealed by God. There is nothing so bad you can do that God cannot or will not save you, and once you are His, you are His for eternity!
Ephesians 4:30 - “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.”
DELIVERED -- Jesus delivers our souls from bondage and the second death. We are born physically as sinners, into the devil's family. When we are saved, we are born again into God's family. See John 8:44
2Corinthians 1:10 - Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;”
