For many, Christmas is a difficult time because someone dear isn’t here with us to celebrate the birth of Christ this year. Eyes are filled with tears and memories flood the mind as ornaments are placed upon the tree. But then Hope and Joy fills our broken hearts as we remember where our saved-by-grace loved ones are.
Ephesians 2:8 – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:”
Spiritually born believers who have left this earth are celebrating in heaven with the Son of God, the Prince of Peace … The real Christmas gift!
Romans 10:9-10 – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Christ-follower, it is hard letting go but knowing we will see our brothers and sisters in Christ again is healing to the soul. Instead of making angels in the snow, they are singing with the angels all around God’s throne!
The real Christmas tree is the one that Jesus died upon for you and me … one of our sweetest gifts!
