It's hard to believe that soon it will be the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on our great country. That fateful day, Islamic terrorists hijacked four commercial airplanes and crashed two into the World Trade Center towers, one into the Pentagon and one in Pennsylvania. Approximately 3,000 lives were lost that day (including 343 firefighters), with an additional 5,700 deaths occurring later from illness related to the attacks.
Make no mistake, this was a spiritual attack. Still today, the battles our nation faces are spiritual. It's a good (God) versus evil (devil) fight.
'evil' is 'devil' without the 'd'
Many people blamed God for the 9-11 attacks. But God is love, and there is no evil in Him.
1John 4:16 - “... God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.”
God hates evil. Proverbs 8:13 - “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way ...”
Evil hates God. John 7:7 - “The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.”
God warns us about the devil and his evil ways. 1Peter 5:8 - “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”
God never promised we wouldn't encounter evil, but He does promise to give us strength in the battles.
Isaiah 41:10 - “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee ...”
God tells us how to withstand evil and fight spiritual battles.
Ephesians 6:11-14 - "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day ...14 having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;"
We've been warned: Satan blinds the minds of unbelievers and deceives them.
2Corinthians 4:4 - “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
How do we overcome evil?
Romans 12:21 - “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”
Imagine a world full of peace and love. Pray for those who don't have the glorious gift of eternity in heaven.
Matthew 5:44 - “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”
Jesus is worth it all!
2Corinthians 4:17- "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;"
God has overcome the world. If we accept His gift of salvation, we are overcomers too. John 16:33 - “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

Matthew 24:4-7,9 - "... Take heed that no man deceive you. 5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes 9 ... and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake."
