Look around you. We are living in a world of brokenness. People are living joyless, hopeless lives. Sin and immorality are everywhere. So we ask God, “Why don’t You do something?” His answer? “I did. I created You!”
We are all created with a divine purpose. God made us so that we could spread the good news of His plan of salvation. Every person has the opportunity to become an heir of Almighty God! Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Whosoever! Black, white, purple or green, big, small, senior citizen or teen! So what are we waiting for? Let’s get off of our duffs and DO SOMETHING! Start the new year resolving to share the gospel with someone each week, each day, each opportunity! If not now, then when? If not us, then WHO?
Matthew 5:10-16 – “Blessed [are] they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. 13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Song Lyrics: I woke up this morning, saw a world full of trouble and thought, "How'd we ever get so far down? How's it ever gonna turn around?" So I turned my eyes to Heaven and thought, "God, why don't You do something?" I just couldn't bear the thought of people living in poverty, children sold into slavery. The thought disgusted me! So, I shook my fist at Heaven and said, "God, why don't You do something?" He said, "I did. I created you!" If not us, then who? if not me and you? Right now! It's time for us to do something! If not now, then when? Will we see an end to all this pain? It's not enough to do nothing … It's time for us to do something! I don't know about you, but I'm sick and tired of life with no desire. I don't want a flame, I want a fire! I wanna be the one who stands up and says, "I'm gonna do something." Christians are the salt of the earth, we’re a city on a hill, so shine, shine, shine! We're never gonna change the world by standing still. It's time for us to do something!
