Jesus Loves Me
We are blessed to have three children, all now grown with families of their own. It's hard to believe time has flown by so quickly. It seems as though we should be the ones running around playing taxi driver and keeping the busy family calendar ... but now it's our kids' turn!
Being grandparents is also a blessing, and we are privileged to see the grandkids often.
Proverbs 17:6 - “Children's children are the crown of old men; ..."
Our grandsons are ages five and three, and still take naps to rest their growing little bodies. While caring for them, naptime is so special. As we prepare and get situated, we talk about the events of the morning, and we sing songs together. Hearing the boys sing "Jesus Loves Me" with their sweet "little boy" voices is a priceless gift!
Matthew 21:16 - “And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?”
The Bible instructs us to teach our children about the Lord. If God gives us a family, He expects us to teach them His gospel message and to live according to biblical principles.
Joel 1:3 - “Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.”
Time is of the essence ... children grow up fast. Are you teaching your children or those around you about God's precious gift of salvation? Will you be spending eternity with your kids and grandkids?
Proverbs 22:6 - “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
We are all born sinners and until we are saved by the blood of Jesus, we are not the children of God. (However, if little children perish, they are covered by the blood of Jesus.)
Romans 9:8 - “That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.”
Don't take for granted the time you have on this earth to live out God's purpose ... teach your children while they are young. Bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4).
While we won't be playing with monster trucks and choo-choo trains together much longer, or taking a Gator ride to the barn to see the blue tractor, we are seizing the day and will always cherish our "Jesus Loves Me" times together with all of the grandkids. Lord-willing, we will make many more cherished family memories as time passes.
