Deep within, the heart has always known that there was freedom, somehow breathed into the very soul of life. The prisoner, the powerless, the slave have always known it … there's something that keeps reaching for the sky. Even life begins because a baby fights for freedom!
Matthew 16:26 - “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” John 8:36 - “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” Ephesians 1:7 - “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;” Romans 6:18 - “Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.”
Let freedom ring where there are chains or there is pain. God built freedom into every fiber of creation and He meant for us to all be free and whole. When our Lord bought freedom with the blood of His redemption, His cross made a way to stamp “pardon” on our very souls. Sing aloud this hallelujah anthem of the free! Iron bars and heavy chains can never hold us captive … The Son has made us free … free indeed!
