So many times, I haven't been true; I've kept myself from You, Lord. I didn't know I could be honest -- I thought You'd walk away! But then there are times that grace gets in and I can tell it like it is; no more lies keeping light from my shadows, it’s got me feeling like a boy who has no shame.
I'm so free, it feels like I'm stealing! I can look like a fool and enjoy it! I can cry like a man and I own it! It may look like I'm broken but I'm healing, learning to bring everything that I'm feeling. I’m so forgiven it's hard to explain it. God sees me just as I am. I gave Him all my blame and He gave me a new name! The weight is off of my shoulders and I'm finally living with no shame.
Like a weight that drags you down, shame can be a real barrier to your relationship with God and can leave you feeling unworthy to approach Him, forcing you to remain distant. Friend, whatever the cause of your shame, Jesus loves you! There is no sin too great that God won’t forgive. Accept Christ as your Saviour and live in the freedom of grace, not the shackles of shame.
Ephesians 2:8 - “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” 1John 4:4 - “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” Romans 5:5 - “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” John 8:36 - “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
