Today’s post was inspired by a poem, “Only One Life”, by C.T. Studd. The beautiful words remind the reader that we only get one chance in the time we are given here on earth to become a child of our Maker and to follow Him. The gift Christ offers is a chance to live with Him forever in heaven, but it is a choice that we must make before we die physically.
Although we did not choose to be born physically by our mother, we are all born into the devil’s spiritual family and we do have a choice whether or not we will be born spiritually in Christ. We were given free will to choose. Those who do not choose Christ by accepting His gift of eternal life (see below) will spend eternity in hell and the lake of fire. Somehow that message has gotten lost in our watered-down, charismatic messages from preachers and priests today. Yes, it really is a “hell, fire and damnation” message, folks! THE GOOD NEWS IS our Creator breathed life in us; His Love fights for us, Lights our way, is never-ending and unconditional.
Matthew 18:10-14 – “Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. 11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. 12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? 13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that [sheep], than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. 14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.”
THE QUESTION NOW IS: What are we doing to show Him Love in return? 1John 4:19 - “We love him, because he first loved us.” We have but one chance at this physical life to impact our eternity. There are rewards! Remember, only what’s done for Christ will last!
