Safe in the Arms of Jesus

Fear. The word ‘fear’ appears in the Old Testament 307 times and in the New Testament 78 times. God knew we would be fearful so He gives us the assurance that He is our Rock, our refuge, our strength. If we are in Christ, we are safe in His arms. That’s not to say we won’t have trials or troubles … but if Christ-followers ask Him, He will carry our burden for us. Psalms 55:22 - “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”

He’ll keep us safe … but what about where the Bible says to fear God?

Fearing God means a reverent fear. God Almighty, Lord of all, our Creator, Redeemer, Deliverer … The One Who will save our very soul if we accept His gift … the same One Who loves us so much He left heaven and became a humble servant in the form of Jesus to die for our sins … yes, we are to fear God with profound, adoring, awed respect for all He has done for us! Ecclesiastes 12:13 - “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” Psalms 46:1-3“… God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.”

If you have been spiritually born, you are safe in the arms of Jesus, no matter your circumstances. Trials and sickness will come, but ask Jesus to give you His strength and to carry you through. The outcome may or may not be what you think it should be, but it will always be the perfect outcome. He will do what is best for you if you are living for and fearing Him.

Safe in the arms of Jesus, where I am free from care;
Safe from the world's temptations, sin cannot harm me there.
Free from the blight of sorrow, free from my doubts and fears;
Only a few more trials, only a few more tears.
Safe, safe, safe in the arms of Jesus.
Safe for He is my refuge; blood He has shed for me,
Firm on the Rock of Ages, ever my trust shall be;
Firm on the Rock of Ages, here let me wait with patience;
Wait till the night is o’er, wait till I see the morning,
Safe in the arms of Jesus.

There’s nothing you have lost that our Loving God can’t fill with His grace. Christ-follower, you are safe in the arms of Jesus!
