Timothy (Greek: Τιμόθεος, Timótheos, meaning "honouring God") is a significant figure in the New Testament, known for being the Apostle Paul's "son in the faith."
1Timothy 1:2 - “Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Timothy is mentioned nine times in the King James Bible; there are two books of the Bible (1Timothy and 2Timothy) containing letters from Paul to Timothy, providing guidance for church leadership and personal conduct. Paul also warns Timothy of false teachers, who by subtle distinctions corrupted the purity and simplicity of the gospel. (False teachers have also corrupted the Bible itself through modern versions.)
Timothy lived in modern-day Turkey. His mother, Eunice, was a Jewish believer, and his father was a Greek. His grandmother, Lois, and his mother were both devout in their faith, and they played a crucial role in Timothy's spiritual upbringing. This mixed heritage gave Timothy a unique perspective and ability to bridge cultural divides within the early church.
2Timothy 1:5 - “When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.”
Paul recognized Timothy's potential and good reputation among the believers in Lystra and Iconium and decided to take him along as a companion. (Acts 16:2-3). Timothy quickly became one of Paul’s most trusted brothers in the faith, and Paul would often send him on important missions, such as overseeing the church in Ephesus, as well as strengthening and encouraging the church at Thessalonica.
Paul's letters to Timothy emphasize sound doctrine, church order, personal integrity, the importance of prayer ...
Paul writes, "Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, and to teaching" (1Timothy 4:13). Paul encourages Timothy to remain steadfast in the faith, to endure hardship, and to "preach the word; be prepared ... " Timothy is a faithful and diligent servant of Christ and an excellent example for fellow Christians.
The founding Bible verse for this website ministry is found in the Book of Second Timothy-- 2Timothy 4:3-4 - "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

Modern bible versions corrupt the Word of God ... false teachers, itching ears ... turning away from God's truth. Oh, be careful little eyes what you are reading!
