Are You Weary?
The old saying, “Home is where your heart is” is certainly true from the spiritual standpoint. The Holy Ghost lives in Christ-followers, and Heaven (where God the Father and Jesus live) is our eternal home.
Our hearts should be fixed on our Lord and Saviour and where we will spend eternity because this world is temporary, fleeting; we are just traveling through. But sometimes we get weary, beaten down from life’s storms. Friend, that’s when we need Jesus the most. Keep your eyes on the prize!
Our mission is to tell others about the gift of God … salvation by grace through faith ... because of the finished work of Jesus on Calvary’s Cross. Sometimes the road along the way is hard and we get weary, but it will be worth it all when we see Jesus! Here’s some encouragement straight from God’s Word --
2Thessalonians 3:13 - “But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.” Galatians 6:7-10 – “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” 2Corinthians 5:8 - “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” John 14:1-3 – “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 18:36a - “Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world …”
Carry on, weary traveler!
Working for the Lord isn’t always easy, but the retirement plan is out of this world!
