Hallelujah Even Here

Lord, right now I feel a little overwhelmed! I could really use some help … I don't feel like it is well with my soul. I've tried to find a way around the mess; I've prayed in faith that the night would end. When I just can't understand, I'll lift my hands to You and sing, “Hallelujah!” when the storm is relentless; “Hallelujah” when the battle is endless. And in the middle of the in-between, in the middle of the questioning over every worry, every fear … I’ll sing, “Hallelujah” even here!

Deuteronomy 31:6 - “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” 1Chronicles 16:9 - “Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.” Psalms 18:3 - “I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.” Revelation 19:6 - “And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.”

Somehow I bow and my heart gets free. Too far, too hard becomes so easy. I find peace here in surrendering, in letting go. Sometimes nothing left to give becomes the sweetest offering. And sometimes choosing just to sing is the thing that changes everything. So in the middle of the storm, in the middle of this battle, I’ll keep praising Your Name, Jesus … and sing, “Hallelujah” even here!

If you’re in a storm right now, praising God is exactly what you need to do. The devil works hard to keep you focused on your problems—but that’s not where your help comes from! Our help comes from the Lord. Hallelujah! Psalms 121:2 - “My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”
