Have you ever read the Book of Genesis? In the first few chapters, God tells of His Creation of the world, day-by-day, step-by-step. Matthew Henry describes it beautifully –
“God said, Let there be light; he willed it, and at once there was light. Oh, the power of the word of God! And in the new creation, the first thing that is wrought in the soul is light: the blessed Spirit works upon the will and affections by enlightening the understanding. Those who by sin were darkness, by grace become light in the Lord. Darkness would have been always upon fallen man, if the Son of God had not come and given us understanding (see 1John 5:20).
Our Creator God has His whole world in His hands! The little bitty babies, you and me, our brothers and sisters … He's got everybody and everything here in His hands!
John 1:3 - “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”
Colossians 1:16 - “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:”
God’s got the sun and the rain, the moon and the stars, health care workers, government officials, media reporters, homeschooling parents, house-bound children, jobless workers, panicking shoppers, all viruses, the sick and the dying … all of us … in His hands. Nothing takes Almighty God by surprise! Rest in the assurance of knowing the Creator of the universe has everything in His control.
Revelation 1:8 - “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”
