How Are You Spending Your 'Todays?'

It is often said to "live like there is no tomorrow." King Solomon, through inspiration of God, warned in the Book of Proverbs --

Proverbs 27:1 - "Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.”

It is true we aren’t promised tomorrow. With that knowledge, how are we spending our ‘todays’? Are we loving God? Reading His Word? Loving our family and neighbors as ourselves?

Matthew 22:36-39 – “Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

Christians need to shine the Light and share the Love of Jesus with those around us. Jesus is God in the flesh; He is our friend, and we must be friendly to others if we are to be like Him.

Proverbs 18:24 - “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.”

How we live our lives matters. Both now and in the end, Love overcomes hate.

Watch/Listen: "In the End" sung by Dale Ann Bradley
Consider these powerful song lyrics by Jill Gilliam--
"It won't matter about your political views; it won't matter where you sat on the pew; won't make a difference how much you knew, when it comes down to the end.
It won't matter what kind of car you drove; it won't matter where you lived on the road. Did you do your best? Did you love your most? That's what matters in the end.
It won't matter how many candles lit your cake; it won't matter if sometimes you slept in late; but if your love didn't overcome your hate, well, that's what matters in the end.
In the end, there's no rewind; there's no turning back the time. When you leave this world behind, will they say you were their friend? That's what matters in the end."
A final verse to the song might go something like this:

“Friend, right now you have a choice: Listen to our Saviour’s voice! Won’t you turn, and by His grace, see Him one day face-to-face?”
