My Resolution

It’s that time of year when many people resolve to make a change, to do something new in the coming year. Some vow to lose weight or quit smoking, to exercise more … all admirable goals … but all for the physical world. Consider making a spiritual New Year’s resolution … something you will do that you can take with you to heaven … something with eternal rewards! Here are 4 ideas ...

  1. Read and Study the Word of God daily. Which Bible version? 2Timothy 2:15 - “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Bible-in-a-Year Reading Plan.

  2. Pray. Prayer is a communication tool with God. The more you do it, the easier it becomes. Simply tell God your thoughts (He knows them anyway!) and listen for His answer. James 5:16b - “… The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Tips on How to Pray. If you are married or soon-to-be, Pray Aloud with Your Spouse (married or not, don't miss the video!).

  3. “Show and Tell”. Be God’s hands and feet. Show God’s Love and tell others about His saving grace! Matthew 22:37-40– “... Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 ... Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” James 1:27 - “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

  4. Give Jesus the 3-Ts --your Time, Talents and Treasures. Tithe, support a missionary, serve at church or a ministry, consider volunteering or donating only to organizations that spread the gospel message. Matthew 6:19-21- “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

Take a picture of your screen, print and save these ideas, or refer back to this post as often as you like. This year, resolve to be the person God made you to be!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Wishing you a peaceful, healthy 2022 !
