On That Holy Night

Much of the world today celebrates ‘Santa’ on December 25, but CHRISTmas is all about that Holy Night when our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, was born. John 1:14 - “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

Santa is a fictional, jolly helper who brings gifts to folks on Jesus’ birthday, but the REAL celebration and gift is Jesus Himself and His gift to us.

Have you ever noticed that ‘Santa’ has the same letters in his name as ‘Satan’ ? and the world says Santa is omnipotent (all-powerful), omnipresent (ever-present), and omniscient (all-knowing) divine qualities that ONLY GOD possesses? Be careful the role that ‘Santa’ plays in your Christmas celebration! 'Santa' is only what you choose him to be ... he is fictional … while God and Satan are very real!

Matthew 22:37-38 – “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment.”

Truly He taught us to Love one another;
His law is Love and His Gospel is Peace.
Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother;
in His name, all oppression shall cease!
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
let all within us Praise His Holy name!
Christ is the Lord; O praise His name forever!
His power and glory evermore proclaim!

“O Holy Night” is originally a French poem (titled “Minuit Chrétiens”) written in 1843 by Placide Cappeau. French composer Adolphe Adam set the poem to music sometime between 1843-1847. The poem was translated into English in 1855 by John Sullivan Dwight.

Romans 10:15b - “… as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” Psalms 150:6 - “Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.”
