Are you a "fighter" or do you back down when confronted with adversity? When someone attacks you or your family, whether verbally or physically, how do you react? Do you back down or step up? Many are afraid of "losing the fight." Some even feel defeated before the battle begins.

Understand that both physical attacks and spiritual attacks are a result of spiritual warfare. Ephesians Chapter 6 was written to remind us that we are in a spiritual battle ... and how to stand firm and fight our enemy, the devil.

Ephesians 6:17 - “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:”

Spiritual warfare is all around us, and we need to be armed and ready ... satan is our adversary and is persistently on the warpath seeking opportunities to keep his team members from accepting Jesus' gift or serving "the opponent."

In order to be properly armed and ready, we need to understand our adversary and the battle we are fighting.

John 8:44 - “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

The human race is a child of the devil, and we will act accordingly. That is why we need Christ to save us, to set us free from the bondage of sin and death.

Galatians 5:1 - “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”

Spiritual attacks often begin subtly ... a white lie, stress at home, problems at work. These attacks weaken our faith, rob our peace, create confusion and open the door to fear and sin. Often invisible at the first, they manifest through circumstances, thoughts, emotions ... and the devil will move in on our marriage, home, health, career, finances ... wherever and whenever he sees an opening.

John Wesley wrote, "As the most dangerous winds may enter at little openings, so the devil never enters more dangerously than by little unobserved incidents, which seem to be nothing, yet insensibly open the heart to great temptations."

THERE IS HOPE! Victory Is Possible! We've read the end of the Book ... JESUS WINS!

John 16:33 - “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

Fight back with power, purpose, and prayer. We can stand firm in our faith as we face our enemy. How? Through the Word of God.

The best way to deny satan's enticements is to know the Scriptures. The Bible teaches us how to withstand the enemy's ploys by giving us a glimpse of satan's character and purpose.

satan wants you to be OF THE WORLD and not IN THE WORD.

Don't let him attack your discipline! He wants you to substitute God's truth by alluring you to live independently of God's Word.

The Bible describes satan as a predator (1Peter 5:8), a murderer and liar (John 8:44). Knowing these facts about our enemy, why do we still fall into his traps?

Corrie ten Boom said, "If the devil cannot make us bad, he will make us busy."

The devil will do anything to keep us from realizing that Jesus already defeated him at the Cross (Col. 2:12-15).

WHEN TEMPTED, JESUS DIDN'T USE HIS WILL POWER, HE USED WORD POWER!

If we put our faith and trust in Jesus, and get to know Him through His Word, we can overcome the enemy through the power of the Lord.

Ephesians 6:10-14 - "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;"

Read, study and grow in God's Word. Join TEAM JESUS and win the battle!

Romans 8:31 - “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”
