Tell Your Story
Everyone has a story. Your most important story is about the day you accepted Jesus as Saviour (a/k/a your testimony). Testimonies are stories of how people came to know Christ or of those who have backslidden and are living for Him again. What powerful witness those stories can be, especially to those who haven’t accepted Jesus yet. Psalms 66:16 - “Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.”
Perhaps someone sees a difference in you since you became a Christ-follower and wants to know why; maybe God’s been working on a person’s heart and your story gives them courage to pray and accept Jesus as Saviour; maybe someone’s been a Christ-follower for years but hasn’t been living for Him and can’t quite get back on track and they need to hear some encouraging words. Whatever the case, testimonies are powerful, words are powerful!
The Apostle Paul shares his testimony, giving examples of four things to include in our testimony –
1) Life before accepting Jesus Christ; 2) Coming to know Jesus Christ; 3) Our life in Jesus Christ; 4) Sharing Jesus Christ with others.
The Bible says to always be ready to give an answer of the hope that is in us.
Seated above, enthroned in the Father's Love. Destined to die, poured out for all mankind; God's Son, perfect and spotless One! He never sinned but suffered as if He did. All authority, every victory is Yours! We will overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony!
Challenge: Write your testimony; take your time, tweak it until you’re comfortable with it and ready to share it. Don’t be fooled into thinking your story is “boring” or not as exciting as someone else’s ... you are testifying to the work Jesus has done in your life … and that, my friend, is powerful and exciting!
