When you hear the word ‘transformer’, what comes to mind? Maybe an electrical transformer which transfers electric energy between circuits … or perhaps the Transformer toys that can transform into other shapes, such as vehicles and animals?
Or what about this … He is so many things, but have you ever thought of our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ as a transformer?
When we accept Christ as Saviour, we are transformed. We are changed. Spiritual birth makes us new! 2Corinthians 5:17- “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Our old, sinful nature still exists, but when we are born of the spirit (i.e., born again), we take on a new spiritual nature. We constantly battle the flesh, but are now born of the spirit … the Spirit of the Lord. 2Corinthians 3:17-18 – “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is] liberty. 18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord.” Christ-followers, we were spiritually dead until Jesus gave us newness of life! Our minds are to be renewed so that the things of this world become less important and submission to His will becomes more important. Romans 12:2 - “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Let me tell you, all my friends, about this joy I'm living in; let me testify how I was dead and then came to life! No more living in the dark of night, now everything's alright! I've been changed; I've been saved by the blood of Christ! It’s a brand new day! No way would I turn back now! There's no end to the love I’ve found. All my heartbreak has faded away like a book when you turn the page. My prayer was heard and Jesus’ love did something radical … a supernatural transformation! I've been saved! I’m changed!
Galatians 2:20 - “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
No more living in the dark! When we are saved by the blood of Christ, it’s a supernatural transformation!
