Truth Be Told
Updated: Oct 6, 2020
Lie number one: You're supposed to have it all together, and when asked how you're doing, just smile and tell them, "Never better". Lie number two: Everybody's life is perfect except yours, so keep your messes, wounds and secrets safe with you behind closed doors. But truth be told, the truth is rarely told.
Romans 3:23 - “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Psalms 34:18 - “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” Galatians 2:20b - “… and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
Too many of us are “professional Christians” who say, "I'm fine, yeah, I'm fine”, but we’re not, we’re broken. It's so hard to admit but being honest is the only way to fix it. The church building is more like a hospital for the sick, the sinners and prodigals to gather. Come in as you are and stand unashamed, knowing that God’s love for you won't change. Let the truth be told!
