When Jesus Says It’s Enough
The disciples met a storm on the boat that night. “We're going down!” they cried. They had forgotten that Jesus said, “We're going to the other side.” The Master arose and spoke to the wind and they saw the storm obey! Jesus said, “It's enough” and it went away! Believer, when Jesus speaks peace to our situation, all our sorrows have to flee. He is aware and He really cares about all that pertains to you and me.
Matthew 8:24-27 – “And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. 25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. 26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. 27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!" John 5:2-9 – "Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. 3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. 4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. 5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? 7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. 8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. 9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: …”
The lame man laid by the pool of Bethesda with no one to help him in, so when Jesus came along, how could that man know he'd met life's truest Friend? The Master said, “Son, be made whole” and it wasn't just idle talk … now healed, the lame man leaped and walked! We’ve all had our share of trouble and trials; sometimes the going gets rough. But when Jesus says, “It's enough” it'll be enough!
