In order to be a true “Christian” you must have two births: 1--physical (from our mother/water birth) and 2--spiritual (from God/spiritual birth).
John 3:5 - “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
Without spiritual birth, you are not a Christian and are destined for hell. John 3:6 - “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” You do not become a Christian through baptism; it is NOT the same as salvation.
It's so simple but not easy. Pride must be replaced with humility.
Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, when you are born spiritually (saved) you're forgiven of your sins … past, present and future. God cannot be near sin; He deals with the sins of His children as a loving Father would.
1John 3:9 - “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.”
It is not possible to worship God without the Spirit and Truth received at salvation.
John 4:24 - “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
Jesus is the Truth.
John 14:6 - “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Without understanding that God humbled Himself and became flesh in the form of Jesus Christ, one cannot understand what being a Christian is and the whole premise of Christianity. This is what "belief" is. An intellectual belief that there is a Christ Who came to save us from hell does not make one a Christian; it is a heart belief. (Romans 10:10)

Romans 8:9 - “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”
