There’s No Excuse

Many people think that just because they believe in God, they are Christian. No! The Bible says we must be born spiritually to be a child of God, a Christian. ALL of us, Christian or not, still have our sinful human nature--no human is perfect. True Christians are still prone to sin.

There are those that claim to be “Christian” but you look at their life and think, “If that’s what a “Christian” is, I don’t want any part of it.” Or maybe you’ve encountered those who claim to be “agnostic” or “atheist” ... no such thing! Agnostics say they are skeptical about God’s existence; atheists say they don’t believe in God or His existence … but how can one not believe in something they say doesn’t even exist?

Important: Someone else’s life is no excuse for what we do or don’t do, spiritually speaking. Salvation (spiritual birth) is not an option, but the only alternative to an eternity in hell!

Our Creator's invisible power and Godhead are so clearly shown in the works He has made, no one is left without excuse; you can’t use others as your excuse for unbelief! Romans 10:17 - “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Faith is all-in-all; it is pressing forward, gaining victory over unbelief. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

Romans 1:16-20“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed itunto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”

In Matthew Henry’s words, “Let us pray that we may be made real Christians, not outwardly, but inwardly; in the heart and spirit, not in the letter; baptized, not with water only, but with the Holy Ghost; and let our praise be, not of men, but of God.”

Christ-followers are to live lives in agreement with the Bible. We were made to praise Him!
