Friend = A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts; a comrade. There are undoubtedly many definitions of ‘friend’ but most would agree that friendship is one of our greatest blessings. We meet a lot of people along the path of our lifetime but there usually are only a handful of people we truly call ‘friend’.
Christ-followers have a true friend, a friend Who bears our sins and griefs, and gives us the privilege of taking everything to Him in prayer … our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!
John 15:13-15 – “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. 15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.”
Don’t allow trials and temptations to discourage you, knowing our faithful friend … Jesus … will share our despair and sorrows with us. He laid down His life for us! There is no greater Love!
Jesus is our refuge when we’re weak and heavy-laden.
He will shield us when our friends and family forsake us
and things seem to be falling apart.
The Lord is our Friend in good times, too.
He brings joy unspeakable. Prayer is our greatest Christian privilege and our greatest Christian failure. Won’t you spend some time in prayer with our friend, Jesus today?
