God is a Spirit

The Bible tells us that God's thoughts and ways are higher than ours.

Isaiah 55:9 - “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Humans are physical beings with limited capacity and therefore our thinking defaults to that of a physical nature in a physical world. However, in order to understand God, who is a Spirit, we must begin to look at things from a spiritual perspective.

John 4:24 - “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

We are to worship God spiritually, and in order to do that, we must be born spiritually. Spiritual birth is when a physical human receives the Spirit of God ("salvation").

John 3:5 - “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

"Born of water" = physical birth "Born of the Spirit" = spiritual birth

At the moment of spiritual birth, the Holy Ghost lives in us and we become a child of God ("saved"). We were bought with a price; we are not our own, but God's new child.

1Corinthians 6:19 - “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”

Nothing unclean may enter heaven or be in the presence of God; therefore to enter heaven we must be spiritually born and cleansed from sin. (We are all creations of God, but you are not His child until His Spirit dwells in you.)

Romans 8:9 - “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”

He who hath ears to hear, let him hear: God humbled Himself and became flesh (Jesus Christ).

Philippians 2: 5-11 - "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

God the Father (Almighty God), a Spirit, created a spiritual "Son" called "Jesus Christ." God the Son (Jesus) was flesh/physical for 33 years; He was fully man and fully God. God the Son had all the power of God the Father while here on earth, and came for the purpose of shedding blood to atone for the sins of the world.

Hebrews 9:22 - “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”

Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin. Humans are born in sin; we are of our father, the devil. (John 8:44) With no remission of sin, mankind is destined for hell.

Simply put -- God is a Spirit; Spirits don't have blood ... so God became flesh (Jesus) in order to have blood ... and to shed blood ... for the remission of our sin. Baby Jesus, Emmanuel Jesus = God with us, Who was born to die for us!

Matthew 1:23 - “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”

God sent His Spirit into Mary's womb to form His Spiritual Son into a physical Son, and called Him "Jesus" the Christ, Who shed His blood to atone for the sins of the world.

Don't confuse the term "son of God" as being a physical son, a physical man, separate from God and/or separate from the Holy Spirit. Yes, although Jesus was a physical man for a time (33 years), He was also a spiritual God, a triune being, Who returned to heaven upon His death at the Cross to reign once again at the right hand of His spiritual Father. This is the miracle! This is what a Christian "believes" and why Christians are referred to as "believers." The Holy Trinity = God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.

WHY UNDERSTANDING THIS IS IMPORTANT
If you do not know that Jesus is God, as well as the Holy Ghost (Spirit) is God, you are not of God! 

Read the following Scriptures carefully.
Jesus said in John 8:42 - "... for I proceeded forth and came from God ..."
John 10:30 - “I and my Father are one.”
John 14:26 - “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost ..."
1John 4:2 - “Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:”
1John 4:3 - “And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”

The spirit of antichrist, the spirit of the world ... the devil ... wants to confuse you into thinking that Jesus is not God. Simply put, Satan wants you on his team! Re-read 1John 4:3.

God gives believers ... those who have been spiritually born ... discernment and truth.

1Corinthians 2:12 - “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.”

John 16:13 - “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”

Still don't understand? Read the Holy Bible. Don't merely read a "version" of God's Word, read God's Holy Bible -- the "version" you read matters! Don't listen to deceiving, cunning Satan through his corrupt "bible" versions. Jump off of his ship and save your life!
