Hear My Song, Lord

What do you value in this life? What we value determines what we do, not merely what we do as a profession, but every action and thought. The Bible says that the things of this world will pass away but we are to be concerned with eternal things. (Matthew 6:19-20) The world has its own ideas about what is considered valuable, but are they transferable to eternity? What will go into eternity with us? For one, math. God is a God of numbers. Also work. In heaven, we will have work to do for the Lord. The Bible stories indicate we will recognize one another and still have emotions in our eternal home. And a huge part of eternity will include singing praises to our Lord.

Psalms 47:6 - “Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.” Psalms 105:1-3 – “O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. 2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works. 3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.” Psalms 95:1-2 – “O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.”

Song Lyrics: Hear my song Lord, You fill me with music! Hear my words Lord, You fill me with praise! Take this moment, I just can't waste it; this one is Yours Lord, I give You this day. When I am hungry, You feed me Living Bread; when I am thirsty, Water of Life. I will not fear, You are always with me. Every need I have, You satisfy. Hear Your children, Oh Lord, we are lifting our praise to You. Let singing, like incense, now rise to Your throne. Come dwell in the place hollowed out for Your Spirit, come make of our praises, Your temple, Your home. Hear my song, Lord.

God inspired a whole Book of the Bible dedicated to songs (Psalms). We will sing praises to our Lord forever! Why not sing to Him right now? Let the music you listen to and sing be words that glorify Almighty God. Hear our song, Lord!
