Imagine, having a magnificent mansion, with servants at your disposal, everything you wanted, and giving it up to live in a tent with a dirt floor and no running water. Your mission in doing so was to serve, to help others. But the people you did this for betrayed and beat you to death!
You may know where we’re headed here … there really is no analogy for what our Saviour God did for us …
God the Father gave up the glory of heaven, became a man (God the Son--Jesus) and came to earth to save mankind from our sins. He was betrayed, beaten, and gave His life in our place so that we might live. But it doesn’t end there … it is the beginning … Jesus conquered sin and death! He rose again on the third day and He Lives! If we accept His gift of eternal life, we can live with Him in heaven forever.
Mark 16:6 - “And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.” 2Corinthians 4:14 - “Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.”
Our Saviour holds the future, and life is worth living because He lives! The greatest gift ever given was the gift of eternal life. Jesus wasn’t killed – He willingly gave His life as a ransom for our soul ... but we were bought with a price.
Have you accepted the gift He gave you? It is a decision you must make before leaving this earth. Hell is real and it's no party!
He died for us … the least we can do is live for Him!
