Talk It Over
How many times has something happened that you just don’t understand why? One of the most common questions believers and unbelievers alike ask is why a loving and all-powerful God would allow bad things to happen.
God created a perfect world and His creation only became broken after man (Adam and Eve) sinned. Because of our sin in Adam, man (not God) is responsible for the consequence of sin, including the death, suffering, pain, disease, and brokenness we see around us. But God, in His mercy, still made a way for us. He came to earth, became flesh, died and rose again as an atonement for our sin. Read more
It seems as though mankind oftentimes expects God to do everything for us (which He already has), but what are we giving in return? How much time have we spent in His Word this week? How much time have we spent with Him in prayer each day? How many people have we told about His saving grace?
O LORD my God and merciful Saviour, I confess my sins before You. I have trespassed against You and have not obeyed Your Word. I pray that I would turn from my iniquities and that You would help me to understand Your truth. Please hear my prayer, O Lord and forgive me in Jesus’ name.
Though shadows deepen, and my heart bleeds, I will not question the way He leads. This side of Heaven we know in part; I will not question a broken heart. We'll talk it over in the by-and-by. We'll talk it over, my Lord and I. I'll hide my heartache behind a smile, and wait for reasons until after awhile. And though He try me, I know I'll find that all my burdens are silver-lined. I'll ask the reasons; He'll tell me why, when we talk it over in the by-and-by.
God’s ways are higher. Christ-follower, trust in Him no matter your situation and you will one day know why things happened the way they did; one day in eternity you can talk it over with the Lord!
God is faithful!
