If someone were to ask you, “Do you believe in God?” what would your answer be? Most people ‘believe’ there is a God. Even the devil ‘believes’ in God! Our LORD God Almighty is a WayMaker, Miracle Worker, Promise Keeper, Light in the darkness!
Christ-follower, if someone were to ask you, “How do you worship God?” what would your answer be?
The Bible says in order to worship God, we must worship Him in spirit because He is a Spirit. So how does one worship in spirit? The apostle Paul said to present our bodies a living sacrifice. Without spiritual birth, one does not have the Spirit of God and therefore cannot worship Him in spirit. In Romans 8:9, Paul is talking to born-again believers, those who have been spiritually born - “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”
Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
Praise is a big part of worship. In order to be a true worshiper, we must read, study and meditate on God’s Word, abide in the doctrine, pray, teach and admonish one another in hymns and spiritual songs, and serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.
His name is above all names! Our ‘Waymaker’ God is more than worthy of our praise and worship!
