When We Speak the Name

Jesus. What is it about the name of Jesus? Here are just a few things about our exalted Saviour’s name:

  1. There is salvation in the Name of Jesus! Acts 4:12

  2. There is healing in the Name of Jesus! Acts 3:6

  3. You have victory by the Name of Jesus! 1Corinthians 15:57

  4. Protection is yours in the Name of Jesus! John 17:11-12

  5. All authority belongs to Jesus. Matthew 28:18

  6. Powers are in submission to Him. 1Peter 3:22

At the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess to God (Romans 14:11). If you are in Christ (born again spiritually), He has given you His authority and it is unleashed every time you call on His name. Obstacles give way … mountains move; giants are slain by the authority in His name; and other amazing things are found in the verses below. Isn’t it comforting to know that nothing can separate us from His Love! (Romans 8:38-39)


Philippians 2:9-11 – “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth; 11 And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Matthew 1:21 - "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." Acts 4:30b – “… and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus." Romans 10:13 - "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." 1Corinthians 6:11 – “… but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”

Song Lyrics: The atmosphere is changing, nothing stays the same. Heaven is waiting for the mention of His Name. The Spirit is moving, burning like a flame; healing the broken by the One we proclaim. Raise it up, fill the sky! Chains will fall, mountains move when we lift the name of Jesus on high! The Name above all other names … Jesus! Speak the Name, the Name the wind and waves obey. Jesus. Miracles unfold, darkness flees, mercy rains down, healing waters flow as our lips make the sound of His Name … Jesus. Strongholds are broken, I’ve been made free! I am forgiven! Fear has to leave! His Name is power, His Name is holy, He’s my strong tower! The wonderful, glorious, powerful name of Jesus. Speak the Name!
