Weather. It is so unpredictable! But whether it’s rainy, snowy, cloudy or sunny outside, there can still be sunshine in your soul when Jesus is the Light of your life! John 8:12 - “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
Almighty God, Who created the Sun and sends the rain, Loves you and offers you the gift of eternal life. Matthew 5:45 – “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” Matthew Henry explains this passage in the Book of Matthew so well:
“The Lord Jesus teaches that we must do all the real kindness we can to all, especially to their souls. We must pray for them. While many will render good for good, we must render good for evil; and this will speak a nobler principle than most men act by. Others salute their brethren, and embrace those of their own party, and way, and opinion, but we must not so confine our respect. It is the duty of Christians to … press towards perfection in grace and holiness. And therein we must study to conform ourselves to the example of our heavenly Father, (1Peter 1:15-16). Surely more is to be expected from the followers of Christ than from others; surely more will be found in them than in others. Let us beg of God to enable us to prove ourselves his children.”
There is sunshine in my soul today, more glorious and bright
Than glows in any earthly sky, for Jesus is my light.
There is music in my soul today, a carol to my King;
And Jesus, listening, can hear the song I cannot sing.
There is springtime in my soul today, for when the Lord is near,
The dove of peace sings in my heart, the flowers of grace appear.
There is gladness in my soul today, and hope, and praise, and love,
For blessings which He gives me now, for joys laid up above.
O there's sunshine, blessed sunshine, while the peaceful, happy moments roll;
When Jesus shows His smiling face, there is sunshine in my soul. Since my Saviour made me new, I have had the sunshine of His love within. Do you have the Light of Jesus, the sunshine of His Love?
