Reading God’s Word should be a daily routine for Christ-followers, partly so that when trials come, we can rely on the Scriptures to comfort our souls. Seeking God’s help through His Word should be our first action. When we lose hope and strength, The Bible is a source of peace and comfort. Life doesn’t always happen the way we think it should. Many of us know what it’s like to be emotionally hurt by friends, family, or even a spouse. Many more know what it is like to live with a disorder, illness, or chronic pain. We all need healing in some way or another ... healing only God can give.
Romans 8:28 - “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Exodus 15:26 - “And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes … for I am the LORD that healeth thee.” Psalms 147:3-5 – “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. 4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names. 5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.”
Song lyrics: Who can bear my burdens and make them beautiful? Who can bring the healing through the hurt I hold? Who else could part the waters when I needed a way? Though I'm walking through the valley, I believe when You say, “For the good.” You work all things together for the good; Your promise stands forever. You alone are my greatest truth; I trust You on the broken route. You work all things together like only You could, for the good. Lord, Your ways are higher; You know Your plans for me. You give purpose and a future, even when I can't see. So I will pray through every heartache, I will cling to this faith. Though I'm walking through the valley, I believe when You say, “For the good.” For those who love You, I know You're working. I believe good things are coming.
Not only does Scripture have the power to save, it can increase our faith, deepen our trust in God, and help us rise to above the trials. Don't lose sight of the fact that God uses our trials to teach us and bring us closer to Him. He also wants to give us a peace that passes all understanding and a life that is full of good.
