Come As You Are

C.S. Lewis once said, “God doesn’t want something from us, He simply wants us.” Our Creator knows us inside and out. He knows the good as well as the bad; there are no secrets with Him. Don’t think that just because you aren’t perfect, you cannot come to the Lord in service or in prayer. Fact is, none of us are perfect … the very reason God humbled Himself and became flesh (Jesus) … we are all sinners in need of a Saviour! We were created by God to do the work of God; to tell others about His gift of saving grace. But we must first accept Jesus as our Saviour and then start living like we’re a child of God. Our lives should reflect what the Bible teaches.

Romans 12:2 - “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Matthew 11:28 - “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Romans 10:9-10 – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” John 4:14 - “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 6:37 - “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” Revelation 3:6 - “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.”

Song Lyrics: "Come just as you are, hear the Spirit call! Come just as you are. Come and see; come, receive; come and live for ever! Life everlasting, strength for today. Taste the Living Water and never thirst again. Come just as you are. Don’t you hear the Spirit call? Come just as you are, come and see Christ the King. Come and live for ever!"

Do you hear the Spirit calling? Come, believe, receive, and live forever! Yes, come as you are, but you won’t stay as you are because when Jesus moves into your heart, you are a new person. Once you taste the Living Water, you will never thirst again and will want to bring others to the well of everlasting life, too.
