When we’re going through a tough time, it is comforting to know we have someone we can count on; someone who understands; someone who loves us; someone so close that we feel comfortable with them seeing us at our worst; someone we can tell our innermost thoughts and secrets to; perhaps someone who has been through the same trial we’re going through; and most important of all, someone who will never leave us or stop loving us, regardless of the circumstances.
Those of us who are blessed have at least one person in our life who fits the description above. But those of us who are a spiritually-born child of God have this and even more! Jesus knows you, loves you unconditionally, comforts you, understands you better than anyone, has seen you at your worst and has promised to never leave nor forsake you. Do you know my Jesus? Hebrews 13:5b – “… for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Philippians 4:19 - “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Mark 10:52 - “And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.” Psalms 46:1 - “… God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Today’s song has an interesting story (see below). As you listen, imagine Jesus singing it to you. Whatever your trial, remember … Jesus loves you … and Christ-follower, He’s not going anywhere!
